First Play - Torchlight (2009)

It was a little hard to come up with something to write, because this game feels so much like Diablo 2.5, with little original gameplay beyond what Diablo 2 offers. The pet is a nice touch, as is using your pet to run back to town to sell off your loot. That will make gameplay a lot faster, because you can focus on fighting instead of 5 minutes of fighting followed by 5 minutes of vendoring. Is the pet, alone, enough to make up for the otherwise unoriginal gameplay? Not really. But it's familiar enough that I don't have any problems with it. You have fewer classes: the summoner/mage (depending on which skill tree you go for), the tank/berserker (again, depending on skill tree), or the rogue/marksman. But it seems fun. Maybe a thinner storyline, too.
