When the combine invaded earth threw a big portal storm all of the human military forces we're ready to fight which leads it to the seven hour war, many lifes we're lost, most likely earths population went downwards drastically.
During the war the combine invaded villages already starting the law and recruiting ''Forced'' MPF's and military staff for the side of the combine and of course conscription of the left overs in those villages.
After the war, the combine started to ruine the earth, depleting the rivers and sea's. Killing all animal life forms, everything that makes a human give hope or make happy, This keeps going on and on..
Till the resistance get involved, which leads to HL2.
