I've played the Neo Geo version in the arcade, but have never played this version. When compared against MLB games with licensed players, this game kind of loses its appeal (at least in my opinion). However, the futuristic (at that time...which is our past now) version of the robots and the RPG elements of the game where you can earn money to upgrade, are nice additions. I'd put this game on par with Cyberball for the Genesis. Once you're tired of playing a baseball game with real players, you plop this one in and play this arcade version of baseball.

I only wish they made this game as deep as Baseball Stars where you can custom create your entire team from scratch. That would have taken this game from a rental, to one that would have been worth purchasing for $49.99.
