Wales Interactives' Five Dates is a standout FMV made during the pandemic. Five Dates is part of the wave of numerous features coming out of lockdown. I wanted to highlight it as a sorta' Video Essay sorta' Review because of its uniqueness. It's well written, acted, and has a wonderfully charming message. Most of all, it's not a performative speakerphone that came out a lot during this time in the guise of cringe celebrity activism. Paul Raschid's writing was sharp and full of life. What was impressive, too, was how he utilized the theme of the pandemic as an underlining factor yet still developed an engaging rom-com alongside. Nothing is hammied or taken for granted. And for someone who isn't particularly a fan of rom-coms, label me a fan of this one.
