How to Fix Error Outlook Closed While You Had Items Open. Reopen Those Items From Your Last Session
Step 1) Select File/General/Start up options, select Ask me if I want to restore previous items from the drop-down menu.
Step 2) Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences
DWORD: ReopenWindowsOption
Value: 1
Step 3) Try launching outlook as administrator
Step 4) Make a shortcut of outlook on your desktop, make a right click on the Outlook desktop icon, Select Properties and edit the" Target" field by adding a command switch as follows.
.......\OUTLOOK.EXE" /restore
This will Stop the dialog box opening anymore.
If you have multiple e-mails accounts, Outlook will open next time in the last used account, instead of default setting.
If you actually did leave messages open last time, they will open next time.
If Microsoft fix this in an update the simply remove the switch.
