Fix Proximity Chat Not Working in Warzone 2 & DMZ - PC & Console
44In this tutorial I show you how to fix proximity chat not working in Warzone 2 and DMZ. Typically, this issue will occur due to your in-game audio settings. For proximity chat to work correctly you will need to have your voice chat settings setup correctly.
If you can't hear people with proximity chat in Warzone or DMZ then your voice chat device may be set incorrectly. Although the default setting should work in most cases, you may need to select your headset directly. This will solve any issues with Warzone 2 proximity chat not working because of the output device.
In order to talk with proximity chat freely you will want to set your voice chat recording mode to open mic. This will have your microphone constantly active so other players can hear you in Warzone 2 and DMZ. On PC your recording mode may be set to push to talk, which will prevent proximity chat from working correctly.
With open mic enabled you will need to set a threshold, which controls how loud sound needs to be picked up. If you're having issues with proximity chat not working then you will want to lower the threshold.
If proximity chat isn't working because your voice isn't being heard then you may need to change the microphone device. Selecting your microphone directly rather than default can fix issues with your voice being heard in Warzone 2.
Additionally, you will want to set your microphone volume so it can be heard in Warzone 2 and DMZ. Typically, a fairly high volume is used, somewhere between 70 and 100.
Another reason proximity chat may not be working in Warzone 2 is because of your selected channels. Setting the game voice channel to all lobby will ensure you can hear everyone in your game and they can hear you. Without this set proximity chat wont work.
To solve the proximity chat not working error on console you will need to enable crossplay communication. This setting is in the account & network settings. With crossplay communication disabled players may appear with a cross next to their name, preventing them from being heard in Warzone and DMZ.
