In this video, I’ll show you how to fix slow startup issues on Windows 11 and Windows 10. If your PC is taking longer than usual to boot up, follow these steps to speed up the startup process.
Windows 11's Fast Startup feature helps reduce boot time by combining elements of hibernation and a full shutdown. When you shut down your PC, the operating system saves the kernel session (the essential part of Windows) to the disk, allowing for a faster startup the next time you power on your PC. However, this process might not be as effective if your system is slowing down due to accumulated files, applications, or other issues.
To improve your computer's startup speed without reinstalling Windows, you can try a few things. First, if Fast Startup is causing issues, consider disabling it temporarily. While Fast Startup can speed up boot time, it can also lead to problems after Windows updates. You can also free up disk space by removing unnecessary files, clearing caches, or running Disk Cleanup. Additionally, prevent unnecessary apps from running on startup by using the Task Manager (press Ctrl + Shift + Esc and go to the Startup tab). Running a malware scan or removing bloatware might help, too. Lastly, make sure your device drivers, especially for the hard drive and graphics card, are up to date to ensure your system performs optimally. By following these steps, you should be able to significantly improve boot time without needing to reinstall Windows.
