Every so often we get a windows update problem. Sometimes we have to fix a stuck Windows Update. This can be difficult to try and troubleshoot windows 10 update problems, but with the help with this powershell script, we can Fix Windows Update Problems with PowerShell Script.

Warning: Backup data before trying to fix your pc and create a restore point.

How to reset Windows Update?

Reset-WindowsUpdate.ps1 script will completely reset the Windows Update client settings. It has been tested on Windows 7, 8, 10, and Server 2012 R2. It will configure the services and registry keys related to Windows Update for default settings. It will also clean up files related to Windows Updates

Download the Microsoft updates Windows8-RT-KB2937636-x64 and Windows8-RT-KB2937636-x86 from
https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=43433 and here https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=43433

All this files will Repair Windows Update Components in Windows 10 and other versions of windows operating systems.

Download all the files needed and place all the files in the same folder. Then follow the commands in the video, I leave the commands below for you to copy and paste them.

Open folder which has all the files you downloaded, then click on File and select Open Windows PowerShell → Open Windows PowerShell as administrator.

Now type the following commands:

type: Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted

then type: ./Reset-WindowsUpdate.ps1

wait for it to finish, then type: Set-ExecutionPolicy Default

Once finished, reboot computer and try windows updates. and you should of fixed all Windows Update errors
