Fixing Captain Marvel
1People hated Carol and hated Captain Marvel. As a woman, I found the overt 'feminism' and anti-man message to be very distasteful. Carol came across as bitter and nasty. In my edit, I removed a lot of the unpleasantness and tried to focus on a story founded in love. I personally find love to be one of my own powerful driving forces so this appeals to me a lot.
I think Brie Larson has gotten a lot of flak due to some unfortunate circumstances. She's said some things that upset some people, but the original Captain Marvel movie does not paint her in a good light either. For people who can't separate character from artist, this has not been kind to Brie. I really wanted to also rescue this movie for her, because she's a human being and she deserves better.
