Fixing NINJA GAIDEN SIGMA - Restoring the Ch.1 Weapons
Sigma was/is notorious for only starting you with the Dragon Sword; it's one of many creative "decisions" that fans questioned. Make no mistake, though: Master Ninja is still tough as fuck, even with the Lunar and Nunchaku. However, this at least bridges the gap between Sigma and Black a little bit more.
My NG wall scroll isn't lying--it's not the weapon, but the man who wields it. And all of my attempts to capture just *one* decent run of Chapter 1 has shown me that, no matter how much research or practice I put into this game, it will never fail to bend my ass over and aim for penetration.
After starting both Sigma and Cheat Engine, open the Ninja Gaiden Sigma "process." Open Memory View and go to address 7FF60AC1EDB9. This took me to the same memory "block" or table we can manipulate in our SAVEPOINT .dat files to populate weapons, armlets, and healing items (which I will cover more in Unlock Everything Part 2). After you start a new game, at the chapter 1 title screen, you should have seen some bytes populate with data. That data should cede to null bytes at 1EDB89 and that's where you will enter the hex codes for the items you want. This way, instead of starting a "New Game+" at the first save statue, you really can give yourself whatever you want at the very start of the game. Codes used in this video are listed below:
Lunar Lv. 1: 002b0101
Nunchaku: 00260001
Plasma Saber: 00CE0001
If 1EDB89 does not take you to the right place—which it may not, because it’s happened to me before—perform a search in the memory for “00 E0 01 01” after the chapter screen loads. This should take you to the right part of the memory to perform your desired edits.
