On November 16th, 2020, I released a video explaining the Steam Beta Client update (Nov.13, 2020) that added basic native support for the PS5 DualSense controller. However, it seems that this update has caused some issues. Those who've used the generic controller support in Steam are suddenly unable to get the DualSense to appear as a DualShock 4 (this is temporary), while others have stated it appears as an Xbox One controller. There's also an issue with getting the old configs to be removed.

In this video, I explain via steps how to remove all configurations from Steam that were used to get the DualSense working under a generic controller. And then showing how to properly get the DualSense controller working.
