Flashback Memories - Dawn of Mana (Playstation2)
0For your information, I'm playing the undub version in this video. And is the last of the Mana games i played. i have no experience with any other ones beyond the PS2/Super Nintendo/Super Famicom.
When i know there is going to be a new Mana game coming to the PS2, i quickly got myself a copy when it released.
But i have mix feelings about it, it does have a good story but loses the charm of the 2d sprites used in the older games.
Maybe is the fact that with 2d sprites and a top down view, you just run up to the enemy and hit them. Where as with 3d, you position your camera view with your right analog then home it with the L2 button to fix onto an enemy. Then chase the enemy and hit it.
Feels different compare to earlier Mana games.
For the first time ever at that point in my history playing a Mana game, I can't pass a controller to a friend and join in the fun. That makes me sad.
Can't blame them also since it's in 3d and you can't split screen either is it? That would make things too complicated just for co op.
By the way, I'm not saying this game is bad or anything, basically it just feels different when i first played it all those years ago. It is a good game and if you haven't played it, do try it.
