I had fun talking about flavor text in magic the gathering; it is more immersive than yugioh in so many ways though if you play it wrong, you can find a way to customize, like draft, pauper or just set some cards to be in singleton to balance and not have to keep buying cards once standard rotates out and there are old classics like squadron hawk that one likes.
