In this episode of History and Video Games, I talk about Flight 1549 and the landing on the Hudson River on January 15th 2009. I referred to many various articles and used some visuals from the movie: Sully: Miracle on the Hudson. This was to allow a clearer telling of the story and I would recommend watching the movie. It's currently free on Amazon Prime (if you have prime... which is not free... you get what I mean :)

This was a true unprecedented event. Water landings are so so dangerous and almost always end in the complete loss of crew and passengers. This was an incredible event that brought New York closer together. The actions of everyone on board, the water ferries and the scuba police made this event something to be proud of for the people of New York with their fast response time and their willingness to help one another.
