This was a wonderful flight, stunning scenery and fun flying in behind my nephew. Just beautiful to weave through the clouds. Real world weather and chasing activity makes for a lot of fun and dynamic flight.

However this was a completely blind ILS approach. We came in really well dealing with some changing wind conditions. I typically pull autopilot around 3 to 500' but this time with all of the activity and camera work I thought I would use the stick to pull it off a bit later triggering my flare.

Typically in flight it does not take much on the stick to disengage autopilot, it just needs to be sustained. So held the stick for about 5 to 6 seconds solid pulling back in increasing amounts. AP did not disengage until I released the stick and leaned in to disengage it. At which point I full face planted :(

Sad but was such a fun flight,
