Floating Discs: One Unit Challenge - Yuri's Revenge - Challenge Video
I can only build Floating Discs in this skirmish match against Brutal AI!
Welcome to the Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge, One Unit Challenge! In this series I'll be defeating Brutal CPUs in accordance with a few simple rules:
1.) Only the specified unit may be built directly.
2.) Ore miners can be obtained only through building refineries.
3.) Base defence structures may only be used to defend.
Sometimes this challenge will be trivially easy, and other times it would be immensely difficult, but that variety is sure to keep the challenge exciting!
Red Alert 2 is an amazing game, and messing around with the AI in skirmish is a huge part of my history with this game. It seemed only right to bring some of that CPU bullying to Youtube! But I assure you, my successes won't last long, and the AI will soon begin a neverending slew of victories as it smashes me over and over.
If you're feeling bold, why not make a prediction in the comments below? What is the hardest unit that I can actually complete this challenge with? I'll be progressing through every unit in the game in my assumed difficulty order (I'm likely going to be highly inaccurate), but where will I finally hit that brick wall?

You may be confused regarding the resolution of this video compared to some others Red Alert 2 gameplay you may have seen from other Youtubers. Red Alert 2 can in fact be forced to run at whatever resolution you desire, although doing so has some adverse effects on the game's menus. It also changes how far you can see at any given time, and the relative size of the mini-map and sidebar. Most people will play on a 1920x1080 resolution, which is substantially more zoomed out than my videos. I, however, am playing on a 1024x576 resolution, which is a widescreen equivalent to the 768x576 resolution that the game originally ran at. Personally, I feel that this recaptures the original feel of the game more effectively, and is worth giving up the technical advantage of being able to see further. Although it does make the game more difficult, but hey, that's par for the course given our current challenge.

On this channel I make a variety of gaming content. Sometimes we're reviewing up and coming indie games, sometimes we're revisiting retro classics for a Let's Play. The only consistent factor is that it's all gaming, and it's all accompanied by sarcastic commentary. If that's your thing then I have links:

Hopefully you'll join me for those, and I shall see you then.
I always try to be as fair and objective as possible when making my review videos, giving some honest feedback and a bit of criticsm here and there. Remember that games these days are always subject to change so many of the things mentioned here may no longer be true depending on how old this video is.
Please leave a comment if you have any questions about this video, or suggestions for future videos. I'm always open to hearing what you guys have to say.
Thanks again for watching and please, enjoy.
