Flying Over An ACTIVE VOLCANO | Microsoft Flight Simulator
In the distance you can see Mount Okmok. It’s an active volcano, and we are going to fly right over it.
Now despite this being a potentially deadly location, it is actually extremely beautiful.
Okmok is located in Alaska far out from the south western coast. It last erupted in 2008, so we are probably safe for today’s flight.
In case you want to fly here yourself, the nearest air field is Cap Field at Fort Glenn. Which was constructed immediately after the First US Army Engineers landed there in 1942.
As we approach the caladra itself – you can see the stunning geography, with an impressive elevation at its highest point of over 1000 meters. Dotted throughout the site are numerous lakes as well as a vent. These developed following the altered geography after its last eruption.
