FMV Heaven & Hell - Episode One - Mindless Machines and Pinned Hopes
Cheesy dialogue, budget green-screen, bad CGI and D-List Celebs - video game FMV often has it all. But sometimes, just sometimes, it achieves its goals of a big-budget Hollywood movie feel - or something that's admirable on its own terms.
In FMV Heaven & Hell, we'll be taking a look at some of the best - and worst -examples that Full Motion Video sequences have to offer, with particular focus on those titles in the Sony PlayStation's library. This series will be an affectionate look at FMV as regardless of the quality of its production and acting and how cheesy it is, I'm still very fond of it.
Dedicated to my partner, supportive in all the things I do and taking a retro journey alongside me, one I'm very happy to be able to share with her.
All footage is captured from original game discs and edited in Filmora, and the background music track I used for intro and outro voiceover is 'Mia' by Jeremy Blake and free for public use as part of the Youtube library.
