In the distant future of the 31st century, towering BattleMechs dominate the battlefield. These walking engines of destruction, piloted mecha in a myriad of designs and configurations, were first developed centuries earlier during the lost golden age of the Star League. Now they are jealously-guarded tools of conquest for the great Successor Houses - and of profit for the mercenary companies of MechWarriors who offer their services in return for c-bills and valuable BattleMech scrap and parts.

In MechAssault you are one such MechWarrior mercenary, an elite member of Wolf's Dragoons, and are about to embark upon a dangerous contract on the planet Helios...
