GAME BASICS
First and foremost, the game will take a while to download after it is first launched. It took my game around 10 minutes to finish downloading the internal data (which was a 500mb-sized file). You may be stuck on the loading screen for a while, with the loading bar jumping between 100% down to 90% and so on.

In FNAF: AR, an animatronic will be 'delivered' to your door. The goal is to deactivate the animatronic with an electric shock. When you 'answer' the door (tap the camera button when you hear a doorbell/ see a red flashing icon), you will have to look around for static (the 'cloaking device' animatronics have). Animatronics can and will move around while cloaked, so you have to follow the static if it moves. When the animatronic attacks, your phone will buzz and you will see eyes headed towards you. The animatronic may or may not attack (if it stays invisible besides its eyes, it's a fake-out). When it truly attacks, the rest of its body will become visible as it gets closer. Once you see the uncloaked figure, you need to shock it. If successful, the animatronic will stop short. If unsuccessful, the animatronic will continue until it reaches you, and a jumpscare will happen shortly after.

The difficulty of the capture depends on the animatronic. You can guess which animatronic you're against via sound cues (animatronic stomping is the endoskeleton, a sound akin to walking on metal is Foxy, Chica and Bonnie make groaning sounds (which they had in FNAF 1), and so on). Endoskeletons simply attack, while the actual characters such as Freddy have a tendency to move a lot while cloaked. If you see static and the character suddenly appears in front of you (instead of running at you) along with screen glitching, quickly turn around and face the other way. If you aren't quick enough, the animatronic may jumpscare you immediately.

Once you shock your first Endo, it is captured for use as a salvage collector. If you click on the icon in the lower right corner of your screen (it'll look like Freddy and a wrench), you can view your endoskeleton. Your options are 'deploy' (send it out to look for scraps or to scare a friend) and 'assemble' (use 'mods' to enhance the searching feature as well as the look of the skeleton). More salvage slots will open up as you play, meaning you can send out more animatronics to search for scrap.

TIPS & TRICKS
1. If you ignore an animatronic that rings your doorbell, you don't have to capture them, however your animatronic streak will return to 0. The idea is that a higher streak may mean more rare animatronic encounters, though the trade-off is that rarer animatronics are harder. The higher the difficulty of the animatronic (and the higher the streak), the more remnant you seem to lose if you fail an encounter.

For example, Dawko was on a streak of 2 but lost against Springtrap, so he lost 16 remnant. After that, he was on a streak of 5 and lost again against Springtrap, losing 18 remnant that time. He was on a streak of 8 prior to that and lost against BB, losing 8 remnant. The base number lost seems to be different for each character.

2. Unlike Pokemon Go, you don't have to walk around to find animatronics. Most of the time they come to you. And, also unlike Pokemon Go, FNAF: AR is very fast paced; you can pick and choose what animatronics you want to capture, but remember that skipping any will reset your streak to 0. Playing FNAF: AR in the casual sense is much more difficult if you care about streaks.

3. The default option for your camera button (while an animatronic is not at the door) is to collect remnant. The more remnant you have, the easier an encounter may be. Having 0 remnant does not stop you from encountering more animatronics, unlike other energy systems in games. You suck up remnant by leaving your flashlight on while staring at the glowing orbs. Each orb color supposedly has a different remnant value.

There are also shadow orbs in the mini-game, and accidentally grabbing too many of them will trigger a Shadow Bonnie encounter. Shadow Bonnie can be defeated by finding him in the room and shining your flashlight onto him 3 separate times. Defeating Shadow Bonnie does add to your streak total, and you will be rewarded with more remnant from him.

4. The most difficult encounter seems to be Springtrap. Unlike the other animatronics, he can cause intense 360 degree static which can disable your shock function. To get rid of static, shake your phone until it goes away.

5. Faz Tokens are the micro-transaction currency for this game. You can obtain CPUs as well as suits without tokens, it just takes a high streak. You should receive 150 automatically at the beginning of your game.

6. Using headphones makes the experience easier, as animatronic static and voice lines are directional. I own JLab Bluetooth Headphones, which are cheap and effective for a cable-free experience.
