Programmed following Pokémon. They work similarly to following NPCs except they say their name when you talk to them and give you the option to return them to their Poké Ball.

You can let your entire team follow you around if you want to, although that's generally not very good for the game's performance since entities that follow you require extra collision checking. Also they can get stuck on each other if you're in a really crowded space.

Their movement is programmed to be a bit erratic, which I find amusing because it looks like they're getting distracted by something off to the side.
