Fool's Theme (Original Composition)
Fool's Theme is the theme for my favorite character I've come up with, "Fool". Written alongside We Pirates, Gentle Breeze on the High Seas, and one other song to be released, as a part of a D&D campaign I was in.
Fool is a minor noble who's assassination was carried out by those above him, being too ambitious towards consolidating power for himself. The music gives a slight nod to it with a small waltz section. Maybe if the campaign had gone on you would've heard it expanded into Monty's Theme. Managing to barely survive, he turned himself into a sort of Clown Jester hybrid, using white clown powder to cover his skin, a clown nose to cover his nose, and a Jester's hat to complete the look. He joins a pirate crew, out of other options to both get off the island, as well as to try and use them to get revenge on his "killer". The real turning point for his character was when he got on of his eye cut out, and, having lost an important part due to the situation, he started to shift more towards being an evil soul out for revenge. Unfortunately, as stated in the small song compiledom varient of this song, his arc was drawing to a close when the campaign suddenly ended.
That campaign actually wasn't where Fool showed up first, originally he was a one note character for an April Fool's Day encounter for a campaign I was running. Funniest part was one of his weapons, a chicken. A D20 roll, auto-hit, -5 to the roll. When it rolled negative, I said "He thwacks your arm with the chicken, it hits in such a way that your shoulder feels a lot better. Heal x hitpoints. After that encounter I thought a lot about a potential backstory for Fool, eventually settling on above, cause I liked his personality. I'd wind up bringing him to a campaign that summer, and started writing his theme a bit before the campaign began. The rest is history.
