Mega Man X was a new timeline of the wildly popular series "Mega Man"
We are given some great graphics, music and fun known in mega man games before it. Released in December 17th 1993 in japan (as Rockman X) and January 19th 1994 in the US. Mega man X is seen as the Epitome of the series, being the first of it's kind, but familar to fans with new lore to explore. Truly a 16-bit gem.
