Games tend to have loading screens between areas. These transitions can be handled invisibly, they can be hidden by a cliche like slowing the player and limiting their field of view… we see you small crack in the wall we have to squeeze through, you’re not fooling anyone. There could be a long cutscene or elevator ride (Hi Mass Effect). But the granddaddy of them all, is the slowly opening door of resident evil. They were a technical limitation that I hated back in the day and want to needlessly add into modern games made in fortnite. For… reasons.
