Forza Horizon 5 crashing before startup possible fix for you too
60***** Try this, before doing all the steps below:
Some people have also stopped the "nahimic" service from running with windows task manager. That may be a solution for you if the nahimic audio service is installed on your device
If your antivirus has "advanced threat detection"....try disabling that and the firewall, then try and start up game. Do a benchmark test and lower some of the settings down just to reduce stress on the GPU. It may not look quite as nice but it's better to take a hit in graphics than have the game keep crashing.
Also, if you are playing with a wheel try disconnecting it and playing with a controller for the time being(wheel being connected may be causing crashes also) hope this helps 🙂👊 if that doesn't work you can try all steps below. ******
I couldn't get FH5 to launch on premium edition on steam.
At first the play button on the Steam app was greyed out and I couldn't click it. It said available on November 9th even though I purchased the premium edition which should have allowed early access from 5th November!! The fix for this was to double click the FH5 shortcut on the desktop.
The game tried to boot up, but kept crashing during the epilepsy warning screen.
This is what I did and it finally loaded for me.
1. I installed latest driver for my nVidia
graphics card.
2. Made sure Windows 10 was up to date
3. Turned off everything on my Bitdefender
antivirus (turned off everything including
firewall, I didn't just disable main shield).
Do this at your own risk!!!
4. I already had Windows Defender
disabled. I'm not sure if that needs to be
done also.
5. I then restarted my PC.
6. I right clicked the steam app
shortcut and clicked 'Run as
administrator'
7. Then, I finally clicked play button and it
loaded up and went through a
benchmark test to optimise the settings
to run on my PC.
It asked me to sign in to xbox aswel actually. I just put in my email address and a gamertag and it was happy enough with that. I didn't have an xbox account previously.
I hope this helps people out as it was really annoying trying to get it to launch.
