5This project was about 3 - 6 months in the making. The idea behind this mini alien space project was initially to create a colour therapy video with relaxing sounds in a video reversal project not audio. I loved the idea of an alien looking vessel and capturing as much detail as possible across various colours, tone, gamma adjustment and reversing its trajectory with a relaxing piece of music to compliment.
However, in the end I settled on the idea of an alien auditory response, namely the 'Alien Whale Probe' from Star Trek 4. And instead of reversing the video signal I was curious as to how the audio of the alien whale probe would turn, not the entire segment but a portion. The results were spectacular. The Tron Legacy gateway train was used as the alien space capsule. I thought the designs were just good enough (not what I imagined, but close enough) but the colours and tones needed heavy adjustment. So here it is. Mixing the idea of an audio signal from an alien probe (star trek 4 from 1980s) and using stunning visuals from a small segment of Tron Legacy (2007) sounded a lot closer to a target where I wanted to get to with this mini project.

The colour choices took a long time to settle on. In the end I am happy with the final result. I am planning on releasing this video 2 more times with different audio pieces. Maybe more than 2, undecided.
