With Franklin Richards, the son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm, also confirmed to be born during the film, the film is the perfect place to establish the beginnings of Franklin's connection with Galactus.
In Marvel comics, Franklin Richards is one of the only beings that Galactus fears due to his immense powers. Over the decades, Galactus and Franklin have been enemies and allies, with Galactus ultimately becoming a mentor-like figure for Franklin as he grows into his powers. The MCU has so much history to draw from in regards to both characters, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps seems set to showcase both of their importance to the MCU as a whole.
