'Free Sherpa' - 7CLAD (feat. Nu Research): Drummer's 1st recorded freestyle (with effects & edits).
*Unmonetized; (Not For Profit): musician hobby/side project.
I have been playing drums in bands for 2.5 decades now, however I have never actually recorded any freestyle of my own before. I have recorded multiple LPs and EPs with various bands of all styles throughout the years. I have been interested in working on my freestyle abilities more recently, so I had already made the playlist I used in the video.
The context for how this all happened is extremely complex and difficult to explain. Basically a staff member of a streaming website I was trying out came in just to harass me with nonsense about being listed in the proper category. I was in the Chatting section because I was DMing bots in CS and tabbing out to do AI art generation and other stuff. The 'Just Chatting' section was the proper listing.
I explained why and how people in the CS category aren't looking for what I was doing at all. They would say why are you shooting bots, queue matchmaking or faceit or esea, they would just harass you for not streaming the way they want to see CS. I brought this to the attention of the staff member, and asked then to please explain how this is wrong.. of course they never said anything ever again, convenient huh.
So I did a short rant putting this person into their place for being so clueless and out of touch on the platform. Literally the only thing they had going for them was that it wasn't Twitch, yet they have the same exact problems already. This kind of disconnect is what ruined twitch and brought it to become the terrible place that it is now, with games being an afterthought.
After the brief informational rant, I began going on shuffle through the playlist of free beats that I had just created on. This is what happened leading up to right before this part of the stream. I just went into the freestyle inspired by the behavior of this person. For the very 1st time actually putting all of this together I am really happy with how it came out.
Obviously tons of things could be improved, but for a 1st attempt into something that I was interested to explore I am happy with the result. I want to continue to explore this further, eventually getting to the point where I use my own drum beats and guitar on tracks.
