Freedom Planet (PC) - Extras (2/2): Torque's Mini Adventure
The second extra part covers playing as Commander Torque. Torque can only be played in the PC version and requires you to buy it from Steam in order to do the steps shown in this video to access him. The reason why being that GalaxyTrail initially wanted to add Torque and Spade as DLC, but due to having trouble with the engine the game used, they scrapped the DLC. Fortunately, Torque can technically be playable in using some methods using steam, though only in 7 stages out of the 12 stages you go through as the other Characters.
Torque is pretty slow, and might honestly be even more slower than Milla. Though you can hold the down key and the Jump key to make him dash to go at a moderate speed. He can also hover for a few seconds by pressing the Jump Button while in the air which helps you out a ton. He also kind of plays like X in the PS1 Mega Man X games. He uses a standard Pea-Shooter when pressing the Attack key and you can even fire it rapidly by holding the the Attack Key. Though before you enter a Stage, you can customize 3 special weapons (Buster, Bomb and Flyer) with different elements to have different effects. You can switch to any of them with the Special Attack Button. I'd say all of the variants of the special weapons are pretty powerful, but still would be wise to experiment with elemental combinations that'll help you out throughout the stages, especially during the bosses you can demolish them with the right weapons.
Overall, Torque's pretty OP and broken but in a fun way. It's such a shame that the DLC got cancelled as from what got from the 7 stages, he would have been the best character in the game, right next to Milla, but it is what it is.
Note: Sorry if the framerate looks choppy and the video quality looks blurry. Fraps kept crashing when trying to record the Beta version so I had to use different recorders. (OBS for Dragon Valley and Action! for the rest. Also, sorry about the first instructions on how to play as Torque faded out quickly the OpenShot Video Editor is a Nightmare to edit videos with.
