This is the twenty-eighth mission of the Derelict campaign for Freespace 2. The planned assault against the Shivan armada has gone poorly. With nearly all the fighter wings wiped out, minor ships destroyed, and destroyers badly damaged, the fleet must withdraw at once. The GTD Ignatius will jump in to cover their retreat, but that is not our role. The GTFf Cypher attempted to jump away, but suffered a hit to her engine spaces and dropped out of subspace almost immediately, adrift within easy detection range of the Shivan fleet. Two cruisers and multiple bomber wings have broken off to pursue her. We must jump in and cover the stricken frigate while a transport effects repairs.
