As detailed in the previous mission's debriefing, we're now part of a Terran-Vasudan "officer exchange program". The short explanation of this entire ordeal is that we're now forced to be flying Vasudan craft and with Vasudans. I mention in the video that this bothered me, I mentioned the Serapis as a half joke, but let's look at things a little more closely.

Shivan ships often attempt to sacrifice hull integrity for beefy shield power.
Vasudan ships often attempt to sacrifice shield power for a more durable hull integrity.
Terran ships I've seen try a sort of balance between the two.

The problem with this I have is that the Vasudan ships are by extension more fragile in general, due to the fact that your shield damage can be recovered, while hull damage cannot. The other part is that I'm not able to use the Perseus, but since I'm using Vasudan ships, eh, whatever.

The big plus about most Vasudan fighters is that they have tiny profiles, meaning that they're hard to hit unless you're attacking them from above or below.
