Around the world, thousands of children are born with cleft lips and palates, a facial birth deformity with potentially severe implication in the lives of those who suffer from it and their families. For the last 35 years, Operation Smile has been committed to these children and their wellbeing. The story of the organization, its patients and thousands of volunteers around the world is one of hope. To date, close to three hundred thousand patients have received free life changing reconstructive surgery, ancillary care, and the opportunity to lead a new life. Every patient tells the story of what can be achieved when people share their talents for a common purpose.
