74Here’s the last shot I did on Frozen 2.
When I was first assigned to this shot, I imagined I’d struggle a lot with the physicality of the characters gracefully floating down to the wagon. Thankfully, it went better than I expected and it was fun to figure out the performance of Gale and how the cover would go over Iduna.
When I showed the first pass to the directors, I didn’t realize that Iduna wasn’t suppose to cover herself entirely with the blanket. However, they decided to go with that idea and changed the audio slightly to support the idea that Iduna was hiding herself. Also, they wanted to have Gale be the one to throw the blanket on top of her, so I had to change the performance for the final.
Observe how tech anim took my really rough 2D pass and made it awesome. It’s always a treat to see how every department plays a critical role in making the shot look better and better for every update.
