In the first sector I believe you can 1-shot your enemies 100% of the time with the glaive beam, and you can often 1-shot them with it even into the second and third sectors! In fact, I found in the end-game I could still 1-shot anything as long as I used a burst laser II or something to drop their shields right before firing the glaive beam.

This video was taken using the DA-SR 12, which is the second version of the stealth cruiser. It starts with a glaive beam, and I've seen some videos of people failing to kill a target they could have taken out in one hit. So I hope this helps you guys out.

Pointers:
1.) try to start and end your beam near a wall. It only needs to touch a room to do damage.
2.) start on the shields. Each point of shields reduces a beam's damage by 1. Each room you hit after the shields will receive more damage.
3.) go diagonal. If you're cutting across one room and hitting the rooms on either end (3 hits), why not make a slight diagonal against the parallel wall and hit a 4th room while you're at it?

P.S. this video shows my desktop briefly because I can't edit it out. Windows Movie Maker is almost completely unresponsive and youtube lacks cropping tools in it's "video editor". So there's not much I can do about it. Fuck youtube, find a better site.
