Today I'm checking out the demo of Reclaim the Sea - a seafaring roguelite with ship combat and exploration that's a nice homage to FTL (Faster Than Light).

Reclaim the Sea is a roguelike strategy game set in a steampunk naval world. Fight your way through randomly generated maps and text events. Command your pirate crew, upgrade your ship and make tactical decisions to beat the boss and save the world… or die trying.

Reclaim the Sea is a roguelike strategy and adventure game, set in a steampunk fantasy atmosphere. Your goal is to lead your pirate crew through dangerous seas, keep your ship in one piece and save the World. Face tough decisions, manage resources, spend gold in equipment, upgrades and new crew. You will encounter different ships from many factions each time and face tough decisions. Will you be a good pirate or reckless buccaneer? Will you defend this civilian ship attacked by thugs? Or will you take advantage of its weakened position? If you engage in a fight, you will have many options: taking down the enemy crew, burning or sinking their ship, staying at long range and playing defensively or engaging at close range… Each run is unique thanks to randomly generated ships and maps.
Command your crew
Order your crew to move in the ship to accomplish all the required tasks : charge weapon, pilot the ship, charge the steam overdrive, repair the ship and many more.

Set weapon targets
Choose your ship weapons and set their targets. Will you reduce enemy fire power or manoeuvrability? Will you try to kill the enemy crew, destroy their ship or overwhelm it under fire?
Improve your ship
Gain power through the game with new weapons, devices, ship upgrades, and powerful unique figureheads.

Upgrade everything and sharpen your builds among thousands of possible ships to create synergies and be able to defeat the final boss.
Choose your path wisely
Explore randomly generated maps in different regions.

Seek support or opt for the confrontation, manage risks and rewards, continue sailing or take a break to refuel. Set your destination and face the consequences!
