I recently realized that you can skip moving the second foothold in the beginning part of the level, which allows you to advance to the next room a bit early. I figured out that I could use this to my advantage in there.

In the puzzle room, with precise movement and by moving a foothold that I don't normally move at first earlier, I can cause the robot to take a shorter round-trip around the room. This would normally be impossible as you couldn't get to the room fast enough with the older method. Activating the gateway this early allows me to catch a fast cycle in the bigger room with the fish, which in turn allows me to catch a fast cycle at the floating platform right before the final puzzle room. Comparing this to Malleo's TAS side-by-side you can see that the new route is about 8-10 seconds faster up until the final puzzle room, which still needs to be figured out. It is not yet confirmed whether this definitely saves time, and if it does, whether it is a sizable amount worth the effort.

You may have noticed that this route doesn't include the cutscene free-roam trick found in the WR. That is because dying and respawning slows down the cycles by about half a second, and being right next to the gate when it disappears does NOT give you an advantage. You would still have to wait for the first fish to move out of harm's way.
