At Rotterdam's Future Mobility Park on the outskirts of the city we saw a demonstration of autonomous vehicles. Already deployed by the European Space Agency and a local hospital, the vehicles can operate in a platoon with the lead vehicle steering. Alternatively, they can be controlled manually using a modified games controller to brake and steer! Fitted on the outside are several sensors, including Lidar, to detect humans or even animals which come too close.
