The fuzzy guard is somewhat of a glitch that exists in 2D fighting games, but most notably in the Guilty Gear and Melty Blood series (because landing the mixup can lead to such great reward). When characters block the first hit of a tight blockstring a certain way (either high or low), throughout the rest of the string, they retain hitbox properties as if they were standing or crouching (depending on whichever whether they blocked the first attack high or low) thoughout the blockstring. Utilizing fuzzy guard mixups allows one to perform combos or land attacks that are normally not possible to land in certain situations.

The same is applicable in SFIV, although its utility is nowhere near as powerful as in GG. In the beginning of this video, I first show that Cammy's instant foward-jumping strong can be blocked standing. However, if the opponent is crouching, the attack whiffs entirely.

I then have Cammy jump in with a deep jumping fierce, followed immediately by an instant foward-jumping strong. I block the jumping fierce with standing guard, and then immediately hold down-back for low guard. Since I had to block the jumping fierce by standing, my character retained a standing hitbox, even though I was holding down-back after blocking the j.fp, and thus I got hit by the j.mp.
