1 credit clear of Gaia Crusaders, played on 7.8.2023. using Mame. USA version, where special/super joy costs health even on whiff.
Played on Medium difficulty / default dipswitches (shown at the end, together with the controls - no macros used)
No save states, no cheats, no turbo.

Score: 1.593.650
Time (SRC timing): 50m 23s

Decided to use Kohen - the main protagonist of the game that looks and feels a bit like some sort of reincarnation of Kurenai from Sengoku 3 (or vice versa). On top of that she's really strong (probably top 2 w/ Rob) - mostly due to her movement speed, amazing Light Ender (the flaming "burek"), reliable ways to keep the combos going and for being the sword expert (buffed Sword damage compared to others and quick startups/recoveries that enable her easy sword resets). The sword is very helpful, think nunchuks in Vigilante. However, you are allowed to drop it twice before it dissapears.
Fun fact: in some of the early artwork Kohen was simply called "Red".

1CC challenge difficulty: 9/10
- Really difficult due to the crazy challenge in Boss Rush - Stage 7. No health refills in between and the bosses have way stronger minions than in the original fights (the only exception here being the Hulk boss).
Next time somebody says this game is better than Sengoku 3 I'm gonna egg their house or something.
The game's flaws really become way more evident when playing solo and when you don't have a partner to cover your back during boss fights. But, it's still a pretty fun beat 'em up that I'd recommend you to check out.

Reason why I and everybody else keeps comparing it to Sengoku 3 is because it's done by the same devs (this was Noise Factory's very first game). Sengoku 3 pretty much improved on everything, but you might argue that "Gaia Kuruseidaazu" has better music (gotta love that Stage 5 track!). It also has some neat features that did not make it over to Sengoku such as items not going off screen (they bounce back in), team combos and friendly fire. Magic system is fun, but I wish magic could be used as a defensive option and they really should have incorporated a way to scroll through spells. The ability to select spells would not take away from the challenge that much, but it would make things more fun.
I'd say this game deserves a remake to polish its flaws.
