The longest introduction sequence. Gaiares is a horizontal side scrolling shoot 'em up. Released for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive in year 1990. Very well drawn and colorful rendered graphics. Highly detailed boss characters and exquisite backgrounds and effects. This game had some of the best graphics ever on the 16 bit consoles. In fact, it even compares favorably to later shooters on next generation consoles. The graphics are that well drawn. The Genesis' color limitations are not noticeable in this game at all. I consider the graphics to be more important than the sound as it is a "video" game and not an "audio" game, but the sound on this was excellent too.
