This is my 100th video. I was originally planning a Smash Brothers Mega Man stage, but I can't get anyone to play it.

This is my second full videogame I made without using RPG-Maker. Maybe I will post some of my RPG-Maker games some time.

The game is Galaxy Quest. I made this using the Gamer's Apprentice book's example. I made many changes to what the book asked to do.

The object is to fly from moon to moon while avoiding all the asteroids. Originally, I gave the player 3 lives, but decided the game was too hard for that. Then I gave them 5 lives. I still couldn't beat it. Now, the player starts with 9 lives. There are 16 stages of play and 3 bonus levels to get more lives. There is an opening screen, a title screen designed to look like an Atari game, a screen for the game to do a demo play while showing you what buttons do what, and an ending screen that resembles what most classic games forgot, a spellcheck!

The graphics were all drawn by me on MSPaint. I did not import anything from any game. I drew the ship to look like a simple triangle to show you which way it's facing. The asteroids are just wiggling the mouse and then filling the inside with orange. The moons were drawn 16x16 circles then expanded to 80x80 to look like an Atari's idea of a circle. For the title screen, I decided to put PUSH BUTTON because Ataris only had 1 button. If you wait for about 40 seconds, the game shows you how to play the game. I took a snapshot of MSkeyboard to help show the controls for the game which is at the bottom of the screen. This time, I made the game 640x480 with fullscreen option.

The sounds are all made by me using an NSF sound generator. I exported all the sounds as wav files. To follow the rules of old videogames where every sound channel can only play 1 sound at a time, I had each sound channel play a different sound effect that overrides the previous sound from that channel. An example of this is when you play Mega Man for NES and you shoot, part of the song mutes for a second, then continues.

Controls:
Up - speed up
Down - speed down
Left - turn left
Right - turn right
Space - launch from moon
B - teleport (cannot be on a moon)
R - return to title screen
