When Eggman uses a green ring after Scratch and Grounder get destroyed, Sonic regains control, telling Eggman to run away while he still can. In the True Ending/Tails & Knuckles Duo Ending, before Exeller is able to catch up, he slips, and Sonic tells the others to run away, which they do so.
