You can pick up EXP orbs to instantly get EXP, though I eventually fell to the temptation to boos the EXP rate via the cheat menu.
Sadly, we're not allowed to interact with chests from the side or back.
Before leaving the first screen, be sure to activate the mirror, which will serve as a teleport point for later.
Unlike me, memorize the sprite used for herbs on the ground, since you have to collect them for the same of a sidequest.
A lot of enemies can freely spam ailments/debuff skills while our characters have to work with cooldowns. This means they can spam things like attack seal to make your life harder.
13:37 Boss: Treant
Most bosses get stronger and faster when they're knocked below half HP, which makes them even tougher than in the previous game because of the ATB system.
17:23 Village
The fountain gives you random items in exchange for Rusty Coins, but there's a preset amount of accessories and stat boosters.
One NPC wants blue crystals and will give you rewards once you reach milestones.
Some NPCs won't appear until you advance further in the game.
27:55 Hazy Lake
The level gap between this and the first area isn't too bad, but the gap gets worse in later dungeons for some reason.
You can recruit the robot, Gilbert, who specializes in defensive abilities and earth spells.
35:18 Fairy Grotto
The silver boulder has to be spoken to twice to fight a Silver Golem.
40:09 Silver Golem
These minibosses mainly used single target melee or ranged attacks, but generally aren't too bad. They're sometimes easier than the normal mobs of the area. Be sure to kill any you come across, since they're the only way to get Silver.
44:57 Fairy Grotto P2
There are secret passages, but it took me several revisits to find them all. There's also Phineas, who can be recruited as the third party member. Also, the random encounter setting in the menu doesn't cancel encounters like it should.
50:35 Village P2
If you have the piece of silver, you can upgrade Phineas's Silver Sword. It takes a single battle before the smith is done with it though.
52:49 Failed Fairy?
I tried to talk to the Fairy, but it wouldn't respond!
53:19 Great Wilds
You can recruit Soire here, but her level is only 1, so you'll need the goggles accessory from town to make her catch up.
The enemy level here is 30! This level gap is way too much and I hope the actual release makes the enemy level increase more gradual.
For some reason, the Silver Golems of this map are lower level than most of the random encounters.
There is an NPC who trades some of your items for Nectar.
1:09:30 Deep Cave
The level gap strikes again! Also, the dragons in this area can easily oneshot Velven and Soire.
Be sure to find the tome in one of the chests.
1:16:11 Village P3
I talked to some new NPCs in town. One of them has important tips. The other tells you about accessories in the fountain and gives you additional accessory slots.
Give the tome to the purple haired NPC to gain access to the final dungeon.
1:24:49 Deep Cave P2
The town mayor is blocking an event and refuses to budge until you beat 120 encounters.
1:28:33 Village P4
The storyteller in front of the fountain will now complete his story and teach everyone their ultimate skills.
I got the chest key from the crystal collector.
