Not all of the games I wanted to add to this year's list could make the cut for technical reasons: either difficulty recording them or trouble getting them to run at all. That's alright, there's always next year.

In this part I highlight clips from 4 games. First up is Trilby's Notes which is the middle game in the Chzo Mythos series and is probably better known then any other game on this list. I selected it precisely because it is, perhaps, the most terrifying of the series. It is a text adventure with a text parser - so plenty of Guess the Phrase can happen. The story won't make much sense unless you've already played 5 Days a Stranger and 7 Days a Skeptic (unless you just don't care about that).

Next is Lovecraft Game which is an unfinished ambient, almost artsy third person shooter. It's difficult to describe in just words so I'll let the video clip do the talking.

Third is All of Our Friends Are Dead which I had some trouble running as the game apparently wants to work off of ffdshow and is a massive memory hog. However, it is an extremely mood-worthy minimalist platformer-shooter game.

Lastly is Medieval Prisoner. Although not entirely accurate - lice cannot transmit the plague after all - it is a depressing little adventure game which can be impossible right out of the gate depending on the character's stats and whether or not they can locate certain items hidden in their cell. The game has a certain draw to it by challenging your conviction to survive.
