This channel is dedicated to showing off games you can play with offline bots.
Notes
- Bots were added post launch, so version 1.0 will not work. You have to update.
- There is a first time setup, login requirement.
Console players will need a PSN, Microsoft or Nintendo account to play this game. My PS4 version wouldn’t let me access the main menu without a PSN account.
Steam users have Steam accounts by default.
- The offline mode is unlocked when you complete this first time setup. You can now play the game without an internet connection.
- You can only play as Jason in the offline mode. The devs addressed this on the official website.
“There’s a few reasons why you can only play as Jason, with the number one being the programming needed for believable Jason AI. We’ve all seen/experienced bad AI, and the last thing we wanted was to see Jason walking non-stop into a wall and not chasing you. That’s not fun, nor is it scary.”
- 8 maps to choose from, 3 difficulty levels, and up to 7 CPU counsellors in a round.
- XP points are enabled in the offline mode if you’re logged in, and disabled if you’re not.
- You are reset to rank 0, with no way of unlocking new Jason skins or kill animations, if you are disconnected.
- Your progress in the challenge mode is saved whether you’re online or not.
- The challenge mode is good fun for 2-3 hours. I actually enjoyed it more than the offline bots mode. Counsellors aren’t immediately aware of Jason's presence, which turns the whole experience into more of a stealth game. There’s an atmosphere and tone in the challenge mode that’s more faithful to the film franchise.
- I suggest waiting for a sale. I’ve seen this game as low as $5.
