GameStop Changes In 2020 | HNE Games
CORRECTION: We made a comment in the video about no longer being able to purchase digital content for Nintendo and Sony systems. It is generally true, except when it comes to expansions for AAA games.
Since Q2 2017, 290 #GameStop stores have been or will be #closed by Q1 2020. According to CNN, there are 4,400 in the United States as of March 2017. Thus, seven percent (7%) of GameStop stores have been or will be closed by the end of Q1 2020. It is definitely not the 25% that I expected to see, but we shall see if it gets there or things improve. I believe the key to improvement is going back to a #pre-Internet model where there are game demos and exclusive events on-site. They and a few other low-cost ideas are needed to encourage people to drop by and possibly make a purchase.
