I am one of those gamers that loves destruction. I know there are a few of you like me reading this right now. the thought of rockets streaming through the air to your target ending in a satisfying explosion, that dazzles the eyes, and causes your opponent damage, twisted metal flying off. You know you're like me if during that you smiled, or even grinned. I have good news, this game has lots of that. There are also some of you who like racing, while I have to admit, I find racing to be relatively repetitive, and at times, boring that is not the case with this game. See its too hard to be bored, when you are able to blow up and attack the racers in front of you . Each race becomes something unique, and next race you can plan the destruction of your opponents completely differently.

I was very pleased and excited when I saw Gas Guzzlers: Car Carnage. It had a lot of promise, but would it deliver? As I opened up the program, I found some chill retro music that got me in the mood. I took a moment to customize my little starter car and I was off. This game has draw for a few different types of gamers. While there are a few things that could be improved, I will touch on those later. I was very impressed with how well the game ran very smooth and with polished graphics, physics handling, and sound. They have created a solid game.

The game's sense of humor is great, allowing you to truly enjoy the destruction and havoc that you are causing. You can choose your announcer, and they all have great influences from gaming culture. As you win races you earn money for upgrades, both parts and cars. But you have to remember that its not just the parts or cars that win you the races, its you, and your skill using your car and weapons. No one car or weapon is necessarily better than the other. As with most racing games you do strive to get faster cars, but along the way you can upgrade the power, handling, armor, and weapons. So it makes for a lot of fun and replay ability.

My experience with this game has been great, however there is always some room for improvement. With Gas Guzzlers, there are only few things. I love how they controller works while racing, however it seems that there could be a couple default layouts already setup for users. IE Xbox 360 controller layouts one for "trigger gas" gamers and another for "button gas" gamers, selectable of course. Also It would be nice to also be able to use the controller for everything not just racing. Switching between the mouse and controller to navigate the menus, breaks up the flow of the game causing the gaming buzz and excitement to be lost between races.

Secondly I would love to see saveable replays, that would allow the player to create fun race/destruction video's for youtube or just sharing with friends. This game has so many spectacular moments when racing, that its fun for others to watch as well. Sparks flying, explosions, and all round destruction that any games can proudly show off. At the end of the day, this game is a great deal of fun, and any drawbacks are easily overlooked because of all the fun you are having when playing this game.

So During the process of reviewing this game, The developers being as awesome as they are already have a patch in the works that covers most of my gripes. Unlike of bigger developers, Gamepires likes to stay in tune with their fans, and owners of their game. They aren't content with just selling the game they want people to enjoy and continue enjoying the game. This latest patch they are working on (1.3) really shows this. In the upcoming weeks I am working on have a live interview with them and get the scoop on possibly getting this game on steam, what that will mean, and some of the more in depth questions that we all have.
