Gas is underpowered (Warframe patch 27.2)

After patch 27.2, Gas is doing roughly 50% of Electrical AOE DOT (area of effect, damage over time). Something seems off about this. I am personally okay with Gas doing Gas damage instead of Toxic in it's area of effect, that just makes sense to me; but if it doesn't have the added benefit of crowd control like Electric does, then it should be doing more damage over time (in my opinion).
