5I’m diving into Gauntlet on the Commodore 64, a classic from 1986 by U.S. Gold. This top-down dungeon crawler lets me pick from four iconic characters — Thor the Warrior, Merlin the Wizard, Thyra the Valkyrie, and Questor the Elf — each with their own unique skills to mix up the action.
I’ll be navigating maze-like levels, battling waves of enemies, grabbing treasure, and dodging traps along the way. And if you’re watching live, maybe we’ll even team up for some classic co-op mayhem. Despite its simple look, Gauntlet packs plenty of intense action and replay value, making it a proper retro gem on the C64.
