Gears 6 is full steam ahead

The Coalition the Microsoft-owned studio will be primarily working on the Gears 6 game according to Jeff Grubb on the Game Mess Mornings podcast. Two smaller games that were being worked on have been scraped according to Grubb so they can focus on Gears.
This is very disappointing when hits like Grounded and Hi-Fi Rush have proven that a large studio making a smaller-scale game can lead to great success.
Those of you following me know that I believe Hi-Fi Rush should get a Game of the Year nomination. Grubb did mention that there were layoffs at the Coalition which is the first Iโm hearing about it so maybe that was the reason.
